Terms of Use

You must be at least 18 years old to use Shared Path. By using the Service you represent that you are 18 or older and able to enter into this agreement. The Service is not directed to and may not be used by children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

You are responsible for your account and for keeping your login secure. Don’t share your account, and let us know promptly if you believe it has been accessed without your permission.

Shared Path LLC operates Shared Path, a peer-support, community, and personal-growth wellness app. It offers encouragement, community spaces, journaling, daily check-ins, goals, optional faith content, and an automated AI “guide.”

The Service is NOT therapy, counseling, medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and Shared Path LLC is NOT a healthcare provider. Using the Service does not create a therapist-client, physician-patient, or other professional relationship. The Service is not a substitute for professional medical or mental-health care. Always seek the advice of a qualified professional for any medical or mental-health concern, and never disregard or delay it because of something you read or received in the app.

We make no promise that the Service will produce any particular outcome or therapeutic benefit.

The Service cannot help in an emergency and is not a crisis service. If you or someone else may be in danger, call 911 immediately. To reach trained crisis counselors any time, call or text 988 (the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or text HOME to 741741. Additional resources are on our Get Help page.

We do not monitor messages, posts, or other content in real time, and we have no obligation to act on, respond to, or intervene in any communication, including any expression of distress or risk of harm. You should not rely on the Service to detect a crisis or to summon help.

To support safety, the Service may use automated tools to scan content for language that may indicate a crisis and to surface support resources. This automated screening is not human monitoring, is not guaranteed to catch anything, and is not a substitute for emergency services.

The AI guide is automated software, not a person and not a licensed professional. Its responses are generated by a third-party AI provider and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate.

Do not rely on the AI guide for medical, mental-health, legal, financial, safety, or other important decisions. Any faith-related encouragement the guide offers is general support only — it is not pastoral counseling, spiritual direction, or doctrinal authority.

Posts, comments, and other content shared by members reflect the personal views and experiences of those members only. We do not verify, endorse, or pre-screen member content, and it is not professional, medical, or pastoral advice.

You rely on member content at your own risk and assume responsibility for any action you take based on it. We are not responsible for content provided by other members or for interactions between members. Shared Path LLC acts as a host of user-provided content, not its author.

Posting anonymously controls how your name appears to other members; it does not make you anonymous to Shared Path LLC, and content you share may be seen, copied, or re-shared by others beyond your intended audience.

You keep ownership of the content you create. You grant Shared Path LLC a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, store, display, and process your content solely to operate, secure, and improve the Service.

We do not sell your content, and we do not make your private content (such as journal entries, check-ins, or AI conversations) available to other members. We do not permit our AI provider to use your content to train its general models (see our Privacy Policy).

You are responsible for the content you submit and represent that you have the right to share it.

Shared Path is meant to be a kind, safe place. You agree not to: harass, bully, threaten, or demean others; post hateful, violent, sexually explicit, or illegal content; give medical, clinical, or professional advice to other members as if you were qualified to; impersonate anyone; share others’ private or identifying information without consent; solicit money or promote products; spam; report false emergencies; or attempt to scrape, reverse-engineer, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to the Service.

Because faith content is optional here, please keep faith-related sharing encouraging and respectful — no proselytizing harassment or attacks on others’ beliefs.

You can report content that concerns you using the in-app report tools. We may, at our sole discretion and without liability, remove or restrict any content and suspend or terminate any account that we believe violates these Terms or puts others at risk. We are not obligated to remove content and may keep records of removed content.

Faith features (such as Scripture cards and prayer-oriented content) are opt-in and entirely optional — you can use Shared Path fully without them. We use public-domain Bible translations. Faith content is offered as encouragement only and does not assume you hold any particular belief. It is not medical, clinical, or professional advice and makes no healing or medical claim.

Shared Path LLC offers an optional Premium subscription. Premium is sold and billed directly by Shared Path LLC through our payment processor, Stripe. When you subscribe, you authorize recurring charges.

Auto-renewal: your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price (plus any applicable tax) until you cancel. To avoid being charged for the next period, cancel before the current period ends.

Cancellation: you can cancel anytime from your account settings. Cancelling stops future charges; you keep Premium access through the end of the period you already paid for. Fees already paid are non-refundable except where required by law.

Price changes: we may change subscription pricing, and we will give you notice before a change applies to you.

If a native mobile version is offered in the future and you subscribe through an app store, that store’s billing, cancellation, and refund rules will apply to those purchases.

The Service relies on trusted third parties — including Stripe (payments), our AI provider (AI guide responses), our hosting provider, and, if you choose them, Google or Facebook sign-in. Your use of those features is also subject to those companies’ own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY CONTENT (INCLUDING AI OR MEMBER CONTENT) WILL BE ACCURATE OR RELIABLE.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SHARED PATH LLC AND ITS OWNERS, EMPLOYEES, AND CONTRACTORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SERVICE, RELIANCE ON ANY CONTENT, OR INTERACTIONS WITH OTHER MEMBERS.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100) OR (B) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you; in that case our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Shared Path LLC and its owners, employees, and contractors from any claims, damages, losses, and reasonable attorneys’ fees arising from your use of the Service, your content, your violation of these Terms, your violation of any law, or your violation of anyone else’s rights.

PLEASE READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY — IT AFFECTS YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS. You and Shared Path LLC agree that any dispute relating to the Service will be resolved by binding individual arbitration, not in court, and you and Shared Path LLC each waive the right to a jury trial.

Disputes will be handled on an individual basis only. CLASS ACTIONS, CLASS ARBITRATIONS, AND REPRESENTATIVE ACTIONS ARE NOT PERMITTED.

You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing us at [email protected] within 30 days of first accepting these Terms; if you opt out, disputes will be resolved in the courts identified below. This section does not prevent either party from seeking relief in small-claims court for qualifying claims.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Louisiana, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Subject to the arbitration section above, any dispute that proceeds in court will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Louisiana, and you consent to their jurisdiction.

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or to protect the Service or its members. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as content license, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and dispute resolution) will survive.

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify you (for example, in the app or by email). Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Disclaimers, are the entire agreement between you and Shared Path LLC regarding the Service.
