Privacy Policy

Shared Path is operated by Shared Path LLC in Louisiana, USA. The Service is intended for adults 18 and older and is hosted in the United States. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Account and profile: the email address and password you sign up with (your password is stored only in a hashed form), and the profile details you choose — such as a display name, an optional real name, an anonymous handle, and whether you opt in to faith content.

Content you create: community posts and comments, private journal entries, daily mood check-ins, goals, saved items, and your messages with the AI guide.

Payment information: if you subscribe to Premium, our payment processor (Stripe) collects your payment details. We do not store full card numbers on our servers.

Sign-in providers: if you choose Google or Facebook sign-in, we receive basic profile information (such as your email and name) that you authorize them to share.

Automatically collected: basic technical and usage data such as your IP address, device/browser information, and session activity, used to operate and secure the Service.

We use your information to provide and personalize the Service; generate AI-guide and check-in responses; run automated safety screening; process subscriptions; keep the Service secure; respond to you; and comply with the law. We do not use your information for third-party advertising.

When you use the AI guide or features that generate a reflection, your input is sent securely to our third-party AI provider, Anthropic (the maker of Claude), to generate a response. Under Anthropic’s commercial terms, your inputs and outputs are not used to train Anthropic’s general models by default and are retained only for a short period.

The AI guide is supportive software, not a therapist or medical provider. Please share only what you’re comfortable sharing in AI conversations.

To help keep the community safe, content may be automatically analyzed for language that may indicate a crisis or self-harm, so we can surface support resources such as 988, Crisis Text Line (741741), and 911. This is automated screening only — it is not active human monitoring, it is not guaranteed to detect anything, and it is not an emergency service. We do not contact emergency services on your behalf.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not place advertising trackers that would leak your information.

We share information only with service providers that help us run Shared Path, and only as needed for them to perform their role: Anthropic (AI-guide responses), Stripe (payments), our hosting provider (storing app data in the US), and Google/Facebook if you use their sign-in. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety, rights, or property of users or the public, and in connection with a business transfer (such as a merger or sale), subject to this Policy.

Some of what you may share — content related to your mental or emotional wellbeing, and your optional faith preferences — can be considered “sensitive.” Faith content is strictly opt-in, and you can use Shared Path without it. We handle this information with care, use it only to provide the Service, and never sell it.

We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies (for example, to keep you signed in). We do not use advertising cookies or third-party ad-tracking pixels. Any analytics we use are limited and privacy-respecting.

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You can delete individual entries, and you can delete your account, after which we delete or de-identify your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we must keep certain records (such as for legal, tax, or security reasons).

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit, hashed passwords, and access controls. No online service can be guaranteed perfectly secure, but we work to safeguard your data and will notify affected users and regulators of a qualifying data breach as required by law.

Wherever you live, you can: access a copy of your information; correct your profile details; delete your content or your account; request an export of your data; and withdraw consent for optional features like the faith layer or AI guide. To make a request, email us at [email protected]. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

Residents of California and other states with comprehensive privacy laws may have additional rights, including to know, delete, correct, and opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information and certain profiling. We do not sell or share personal information for advertising. Louisiana has enacted a consumer privacy law (effective in 2027); we honor the rights described here regardless of where you live.

Shared Path LLC is not a healthcare provider, and the Service is not a “covered entity” under HIPAA. We do not claim to be HIPAA-compliant. Information you share is handled under this Privacy Policy, not HIPAA.

Shared Path is for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If we learn that we have, we will delete it. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us at [email protected].

We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify you. The “last updated” date below shows when this Policy was last revised.
